January 04, 2012: Mom Makes Excuses and Dad Nags!
Hi,
It is 7 am and I'm writing this from the bed of Comfort Inn, Ft. Lauderdale. I told dad to write this but he was too lazy…
Dad wanted me to let you know that I left out some parts- the 'bad Rosie' parts. Just FYI I didn't do it on purpose...
On the plane, I was thirsty so when we got on board there were 2 small bottles of water. i DRANK MINE, AND THEN i DRANK dAD'S. dAD HAD A COFFEE AND THE STEWARDESS NOTICED HIS WATER WAS GONE, AND SO STARTED A JOKE WHERE SHE WOULD BRING HIM MORE WATER AND i WOULD DRINK IT ALL THE TIME.
(Sorry about the caps- wasn't looking.)
Then later on during the flight, after breakfast, I had some milk leftover (it came in a small carton - remember the kind you used to get in elementary school?) anyway, there was some left over from my cereal and I was keeping it to put in my tea later on. The tea came, and I thought I had used it all, but I guess no- there was a bit left over. Somehow it got knocked and it spilled on Dad's iTouch and a bit on his pants too. Of course he freaked out. The stewardess thought it was funny- just a continuation of the water thing. She brought him a towel and said I hear there is an emergency here and they had a good laugh over me. I guess I am just a source of entertainment!
The iPod and pants were fine BTW.
The notes are going to be shorter from here on because the connection on the boat is very slow and it's very expensive for the time.
Paul, we did hit some snow squalls on the way to Windsor, but it didn't get that bad at all. It snowed a bit overnight because we could see it on the ground in the morning, but not much at all. Boy, you sure got your exercise! No shoveling required here. (Editor’s note: Haha Paul you sucker! :P)
BTW - after we got on the plane, in our first class seats, they discovered that it had engine problems and so we were grounded for repairs for about 45 minutes. But we were not upset because we had lots of time and were being pampered.
Have to get up and have a shower & breakfast now. 7:30 am here. I never slept all night. Big surprise. Dad's naggin’ me to end this so we can get going - he says he's hungry and needs his breakfast.
Love, Mom & Dad
Hey guys! Hope you're having fun!
ReplyDeleteLOL those updates are GREAT! Sounds like typcal mom / dad interactions :P.
I've started a blog for you guys that I will update for you!
You can check it out here:
http://momanddadsbigadventure2012.blogspot.com
I can give you guys "permission" to edit it etc if you want... but you should sign up for a google account so that you can at least log in and post comments under your own name if you wanted. Paul, I can show you how to do this as well if you don't have one / know how. I thought it would be nice to keep all your "adventures" in one place, then maybe download the whole thing to a hard drive or something later to ensure it doesn't get deleted or something? Either way, you don't really have to do anything, I can just do it for you off your emails :). I am also able to add pictures to the blog, so if you send me some, I can add them right away OR when you get home (since sending images is expensive due to bandwidth) you can add them yourself.
The trip back and forth to St Thomas has been BRUTAL out here... on Tues we almost had to turn around as Highbury was slippery and we could not even see the roads! I have also had to shovel my driveway... yes, it's true... I finally shoveled! :S (At least I only have to do 1 small driveway in contrast to Pauls 2x big ones! Haha)
Mr. Moose has been a very good dog! He sort-of gets along with the cats as long as he doesn;t get right up in their face and sniff them too much... when he does that he gets swatted by them. Cloud follows him around everywhere to "supervise" him, and I don;t know if he's playing or not but likes to get a few slaps in when he can. I can't get Moosey to stop eating my cats food, however... no matter how many times I say "no" and bring him to his own food dish. I'm going to have to check with the company to see if it's harmful to dogs, though I know it shouldn't be, and it's VERY high quality food, so things should be OK I guess? PAUL! Did you switch your cat to Origins as well? I know you asked for the brand I buy... expensive but good, yes? :P
Aside from the snow things are quiet here. I've been going to bed early trying to catch up on sleep... Mmmmmm sleep. So I guess I'm the opposite of moms noctural ways right now!
Love you guys and hope all is well!
Keep us updated! :)
Carl, Amanda, Cloud, Tifa & the Moose!
I should also mention that to access commments you need to press the "comments" button at the bottom of each blog post. That will show the "reply thread". ALSO I will add everyones email replies as a "reply" so be sure to copy me on everything so that it will all be in there! If you don't have a google acct, I will just add a comment and say (Comment by: Paul Szalich) or something so that we know who left what reply / message :).
ReplyDeleteOne more thing! If you don't have a lot of bandwidth to write emails I suggest just write them in notepad. That way when you DO have internet connection you can simply copy everything from notepad and send it in an email OR simply attach your files to the email and it will be quite fast. Hope this helps! Carl
